Pediatric Specialists of Franklin County came into existence in July 2000. Over these past seventeen years, our office has kept on trying to improve and expand its services. Our team consists of experienced, compassionate clinicians and friendly, nurturing staff members who take pride in giving our young patients the personalized pediatric care that they deserve.We understand that you have a choice of physicians in the Waynesboro and adjoining areas, and we appreciate your consideration. All of our clinicians are highly educated professionals who have undergone rigorous academic and clinical training in pediatrics. We maintain a high level of expertise through continuing education in order to provide the most up-to-date care for the young patients we are privileged to serve. The other good news is that our practice has opened our Pediatric Urgent Care on 5 Roadside Ave, Waynesboro for extended evening hours and Saturday and Sunday hours.
We are available for our patients 24 hours a day 7 days a week.Our hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Urgent Care that is located at 5 Roadside Ave (across from CVS and the Waynesboro Hospital) is open 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday through Friday and Saturdays and Sundays 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Main office is closed for holidays. The urgent care is open most holidays but will be closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Black Friday and 12/26/17 will have hours at the Urgent Care only. Same day appointments are usually available.We are now seeing patients from newborn to age 22 years, so you do not need to find a new medical provider when your child turns 18 years. All after hours telephone calls to the office are handled by Medical and Nursing staff of our Practice. After hour calls will be charged a small fee. In addition, there is 24 after hour’s Waynesboro hospital coverage for our patients through a combined pool of Pediatricians including Drs. Rishi, Dr Romald, Dr Khalil and Dr Coda. Our office is located in the attractive brick building behind Waynesboro Hospital on 27 Vista Drive, Unit 3 and 4. The office has handicap access and there is plenty of free parking.
Dr. Rishi is a board certified Pediatrician who has been in pediatric practice in Waynesboro for the past eighteen years. She has active staff privileges at Waynesboro Hospital. Dr. Rishi did her medical schooling at Dow Medical College in Pakistan. Throughout her school years she was among the top five percent of her class. Dr. Rishi received further postgraduate training in General Pediatrics and various pediatric specialties at the Royal hospital for Sick children and Queen Mother Hospital in United Kingdom. For her residency in General Pediatrics, Dr. Rishi attended Hershey Medical Center, Hershey and did her Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at Emory University, Atlanta. She is member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Heart Association and Pennsylvania Medical Society.
Jermine Harriet Romald MD FAAP joined our office in September 2016. She went to Medical School in India following which she did ENT residency in India. Her passion for children led her to choose Pediatric residency in the US. She completed her Pediatric residency at Monmouth Medical Center in NJ. She was also the Chief Pediatric Resident at MMC and won the Martin Quir Award in recognition for her leadership and dedication to children. She is board certified and a member of AMA and AAP. She is a parent of 2 children. She loves to spend time with children and believes in making children healthy, active and cheerful for a better tomorrow.
Sarah Pentz has been with us for 3 years and will be having a new addition to her family. She joined our practice October 1, 2014. She is a board certified nurse practitioner in family practice. She did her Nurse Practioner training at Shenandoah University and her Bachelors in Nursing at Washburn University, Kansas. She loves children and is delighted to be joining the practice.
Deborah Barndt PA-C is a new addition to our team. She is originally from Montgomery County, PA. She moved to Central PA after working in a private pediatric practice in suburban Philadelphia for 10 years. She has 2 grown children. She loves nature, gardening and the outdoors. She is happy to live and work in Franklin County, and considers it a priviledge to work for our office.
All of our providers keep their knowledge in Pediatrics up to date by attending frequent CME courses as well as recertifying in their professions.
